Freezer to Oven
This is your grandma’s glass bakeware. Glass bakeware used to be commonly made of borosilicate glass and now, thanks to OXO, it is again!
Borosilicate glass is made to withstand thermal shock — that is, you can fill a borosilicate glass with hot water and, immediately after, cold water, and it won’t likely break. Try that with a regular glass and you’ll find it, in shards, all over the floor. For decades, glass bakeware was made of borosilicate glass, a special type of glass in which boron oxide is added to the mix. The added boron allows borosilicate glass to handle heat much better than typical glass, so this type of glass is welcome in the kitchen.
