I have been looking for this specific peeler for the last 15 years. I always used to buy them at the local hardware store and then they just disappeared. I am down to my last peeler which is almost 30 years old. The blade is starting to rust but it is still sharp and does it's job. I clean the blade with a brillo pad before use. But one of these days the blade is going to break. AND I DON'T WANT ANY OTHER PEELER. So, as soon as payday arrives (next week), I am buying ten of them and since I am 73, they should last me the rest of my life and be passed down to my grandkids.

In 1956 & this was the "thank you gift" at my mothers bridal shower. They had extras and over the years, we have all used them faithfully. We have had people ask us "where did you get them" and had given away any extras. I was beyond thrilled to find this site and bought a dozen plus. I have had mine, (from the 1956 batch that had been my grandmothers so very well used) and will continue to use because it's never gotten dull but want some to share and some for "back up"!!
They fit the hand wonderfully too - they were "ergonomic" before that word even hit the dictionary! I can't wait to give these to the ladies who help at our parish festival peeling carrots, cucumbers and potatoes (especially) for over 1000 meals!!

Like so many, I have had mine for at least 57 years---passed down from mom to me. I purchased a brand new one some 16 years ago and gave it to my daughter when she decided to see how it was living away from home. When she returned, it didn't come back with all her belongings. Long story short, I haven't been able to buy one new anywhere. Please bring it back for the next generation. It's the easiest to use. Almost ergonomical in today's speak. It peels, it grates, digs out eyes from a potato. In all these years, it never dulled. Such a great tool!!

Have had mine for at least 50 years. It looks really old but I wouldn't trade it for any other new one. So happy to see they are still being made. Are they made in America?

I have used one for nearly 50 years. It was a wedding gift from my mother.
It got accidently thrown out with the peelings.
I really want to replace. Please bring it back I would buy at least three!

I have used this kind of peeler every since I use to visit, then lived, with my aunt and uncle. I was first able to spend the night away from home, back in the 1970's, that's when I got to use the marvel peeler. . I was able to peel potatoes, when I was real young, with this because my aunt thought it was safe. Lucky me, peeling potatoes before I even started kindergarten. Well, when I moved out on my own, in 1984, I was given two of these peelers, by her. I never had to use the second one until today, Aug 26, 2013. I was not able to find my first one cause, well, I have kids and they don't always put thinks back where they belong. When me and my husband married in 2000, he brought along his own peeler. I didn't care for it a bit. I tried to peel potatoes, this evening, because I didn't want to open and use the extra marvel peeler. Before I could even finish one potato I got aggravated and decided to open it. Maybe this might help you realize how long ago this has been!
